D3 – Diocesan Day on the Diaconate
Information for Congregations
In the Diocese of Maryland, deacons are assigned to parish ministry in consultation with the Bishop, the Archdeacon for Deployment and Pastoral Care, the priest or vicar, and the deacon. Congregations that seek to have a deacon must submit a Request for a Deacon.
Association for Episcopal Deacons
AED is a membership-funded association of persons and dioceses within The Episcopal Church whose mission is to increase participation and involvement of all baptized persons in Christ’s diaconal ministry, especially by promoting and supporting the diaconate.
